There is simply too much going on, this post is only about GCG, yes we are totally smitten. We visited the new welcome area, and WOW, talk about something to be proud of. The team did a wonderful creative welcome area, it is so bright and welcoming.  The area is so typical of a Canadian fall,  after having arrived in other grids, this one is A W E S O M E    Taxi to GCG

There is a landmark bill board at the end of the pathway.  New visitors to the grid can easily find locations of interest, they need only click on the topic/places of interest and they will have a note card filled with possibilities.  If you are a merchant or have a commercial enterprise here on the grid, you might want to get down and put your taxi in the lineup.

Hot - Coming on Monday... Start June of properly..

The Ivory Key's,   did you miss the grand re-opening.. if you did, you are getting a second chance, this Monday, June 1. @ 6 PM SL time, the delicious, delightful sexy DJ Sugaree will be on stage to help you groove into a new week.

You'll find the link at the start of this blog, this club is a must see if for the build alone.  It is inside a piano, and the inside is a class act that will take you back to the days of the big bands and the singers that crooned and had you dancing close and tight with your squeeze.

The Ivory Key's  is owned and operated by the lovely Gingerspice2 known to her friends as Gin.  This club is Gin's dream, you have any questions, give her a nudge, she will be more than happy to talk you about the club.

The club is formal, so you get to wear your fancy gowns, and fellas you get to show us your handsome and debonair side.

Wedding Season is coming

Wedding season is upon us.  Whether you are the one getting married, or attending, there is a lot to think about.  The bride will have her engagement ring, but maybe she hasn't picked it out yet.  

The virtual worlds open up a world where dreams can come true, and for a little while you are a princess.  You meet your prince and you are swept off your pretty little feet. You dance, laugh and seem to be without a care.  You shop for shoes, and outfits to charm and delight your wonderful new "beau"

Not only the women get caught up in the fantasy, men do too.  They find someone who is not wanting them to be anything other than they are (at that moment in time.)  If only real life were like that, but never mind, in this story, we are falling in love .  The romantic in all of us, gets to come out and explore the world it is in.

 Dreams are lived, special moments are had that were never experienced in the real world, you find that love can be like living on a cloud.  You can buy land, build a home together, there are no bills to pay, no grass to be cut, and no plumbing that needs fixing.  There is just two hearts beating as one.

There are wonderful designers in Second Life, Luminesse is another designer who offers delightful pieces at reasonable prices.

 What better way to say I love you, then by sharing a part of you that may have been cooped up for a very long time.  You find your pixel self dancing in your partners arms, held close, with sweet words whispered in your ear.  You feel her need just for you, no questions, no demands, just wanting you.  How easy it is to believe it will last forever.

When friends and acquaintances  you know take their vows, or start a relationship where there is a commitment with all your friends to share with you, the time is even busier.  You need to find that perfect dress, the one that will have you being the bride you have always seen in  wedding magazines or in movies.   There are a number of great dress designers in SL who will offer amazing outfits, you will be the diva on the red carpet... your " Oscar" the man of your dreams.

If you are too busy to plan your own wedding, there are wedding planners who will help you. They will help you to not only plan the wedding, some will assist you in getting the church, and the club or special gardens for the receptions anything and everything to do with a wedding.

This is heady stuff, that simple dance in a stranger's arms, has grown into a full blown story book romance.  Or has something else happened  And you have yet to find out.  The difference from RL and SL in this one regard, is that while you are drinking in the moment of being in his/her arms, and cherishing everything about the moment, he or she, can be having a really tantalizing conversation with another avatar

In RL if you have someone in your arms, at that moment, their minds could be elsewhere, but there is no input from another energy, the two energies that are locked in that embrace are yours and the person you are with. 
Still I know many partnered friends in SL and they are true to each other.  They have the confidence in themselves, and the knowledge that behind every avatar in SL there is another human being, a person with a heart and feelings, and they act accordingly.  When a heart or dream is broken, it is real pain, sadness and a feeling a betrayal that takes place.  It is not a fantasy, it is very very real.

I would like to thank all my many contacts/friends who have helped me gather my information and understanding of what happens in SL.  You know who you are, I appreciate your honesty, your open rapport, the loyalty you have shown to your friends, and the generous spirit you have shown in offering friendship to me in my search for "life's lessons".

Love is something that never goes away, when you offer friendship and love follows, it will always live in your heart.  We are all connected, all brother and sisters, SL offers the romantic love to flourish, cherish it, even when it is just a memory.  Every day is a new beginning.

Dating in Second Life

SL - Second Life, the land of dreams, Prince Charmings and Princess beauties. A land where everyone can custom design their characters and personalities. It is not always an easy road to find that perfect image for your avatar.  I think what amazed me the most was that so many of the women I've met over the years have had stories to tell of romance and broken hearts.  It is only recently that I heard someone say, she had stopped looking at SL as a dating platform.. Wow was I out of the loop, in 7 years if being in SL I never once thought of it as a place for dating.  Then I discovered the night life in SL and dancing.

Beware ladies, and men, dancing can be dangerous to your "health".  There are some smooth operators out there, they are wordsmiths and have practiced and honed their romancing to a master's skill. OK, maybe I am giving them too much credit, but believe me when I say that when you have been romanced by a pro... you become the star in your own romantic screen play.

Now I know why so many ladies and men I've met along the way have had their hearts broken.

DC 74 visits North Star Park

North Star Park - Welcome to SL`s most romantic place,  Are you looking for a new place to charm your partner, wanting a place that isn't filled with other lovers looking for a place to snuggle. This might fit the bill, lot of places to explore, and not over populated.

There is a cover charge, however it is a one time fee, once paid and you have your tag, all the various areas are open to you. The ballroom is beyond the gates.  Tag is required to access the ballroom.

Well known and loved saxophone player & photographer, Trow Boa played there on Friday, He played 11.am - noon SL time, I'm waiting for confirmation, but I think this is the time slot he will be playing most weeks.  It was his venue that brought us to the Charleston.

Whether inside or outside on one of the expansive and inviting decks You are sure to find a quiet place for reflection or romancing that special someone in your life. Entertainment  is Thursday evenings, and from 11 a.m Friday till Midnight.  If I understood the manager Sagia Monroe, Saturday and Sundays is hosted by staff.  They are open 24/7 so the ballroom and grounds are always available to members.  They provide a constant music stream. 

Stroll the broad walkways and shop, you will find a delightful selection of merchants, many you will already be familiar with.  Charleston Couture > Styles by Danielle >Bizarre Hair  > Cleo Couture to name a few.
