While visiting the Great Canadian Grid the other day....As you know Jettis and China have an estate there... we had to wait for them, so we did what most virtual travellers do, we started to explore ...

It may have been Black Friday in the United States and  Canada,  however, we saw sales on the Canadian Grid that would give other  grid merchants a real run for their money.

Spirit Nation, we landed in an area we  had not been before, and heard chanting.  Very interesting..  Spirit Nation - Indian Nation, Eastern Woodlands 

 The Sundance is the Ceremony of the Great Plains Indians.   Some dance to pray for a relative or friend or simply to determine ones place in life.   Some tribes believe that unless the sundance is performed every year that tribe will lose touch with the creative powers of the universe.   some tribes have used self torture as part of the ceremony by attaching eagle clews to ropes and impaling the claws into the chest and then leaning back until the skin ripes the claws free.   this was a test of honor.  And also to honor the great Spirit.
Kind of like a test of manhood to gain respect from other tribe members.    Each tribe has its own version of the sun dance.

Last time we saw China she was standing outside waiting for Roddie to come and extend  their  estate.. She and Jettis are already planning for their summer adventures. %# the clue,  she is waiting by the wharf Jettis built, they must want that dock for something...

The smart thing to do would have been to ask for a tour.  Let me see if we can find anyone.  We are on Native American land, our contact is Squanto Thorne. We arrived in an open area, that looked very interesting, with stalls around for purchase of items to fit into the land of the Wampanoag People.

China > Squanto? is there role play and combat here, and what does that involve? ] Squanto Thorne: As the sims grow we hope to develope role play combat.
[16:50] Squanto Thorne: I started a group called the Western Alliance which consisted of 20 Wild West and Native American sims. I left because of all the Drama. the sims were during the 1800's in the wild west. ther e were many battles between the whites and the Natives....hence the combat role play. As you might imagine with 20 sims involved there was great interest in this type of role play but when you have that many people and personalities involved drama follows. My goal is to create a drama free role play sim in the spirit of the old west for everyone to enjoy.

There are a lot of horses to see .. and I believe ride.  Obviously Squanto has invested a lot of time and creative talent into pulling this sim together. I know there are a lot of people reading this who enjoy  role play.  Check out the opportunity here to learn about the American west as it used to be. And just maybe, tackle the learning of the Native teachings and ways.

16:56] Squanto Thorne: these sims are fairly new but so far it has been a challenge to get folks involved. I had invited people from my groups in second life to visit my sim in hopes that they might give it a try here. The problem has been providing them with the weapons of the old west and Native clothes as well as western clothes but I now have a few good vendors that have provided Native clothes and a few western style clothe. I also spoke with a creator that is working on western style weapons so it is my hope that very soon we will have here all that is required for wild west role play.

A new land that is vast, open, and very friendly.  The Great Canadian Grid... owned and operated by a Canadian, Roddie Macchi. To read more about the GCG, what it is all about, and  who the founder is, please visit, www.greatcanadiangrid.ca   If you are not already in the community "hey" you are more than welcome to join in on the fun.

When you arrive, there is detailed information on how to go about getting started, there is so much offered that is free, and shared by other builders and designers in the community, initially you will be able to start out with a nice starter house, on your own small plot of land.  Sit down, hold on to your hats, you can find a small place with 1000 available prims. !!! Hey! No kidding.

If you are already a virtual traveller, then you can own your own sim/island for $10 Canadian, (I think its $9. US) a month.  Bring your business, club, market to GCG.  Some malls offer free rent.

There are two groups to join when you come in... and they are right there when you land.  Clear instructions are provided on how to join the groups., One is the

Great Canadian Grid, where you will become known to others in the community, and where if you need anything, you simply holler for help and someone will come to your rescue.

The other group is the Great Canadian Flyer, this is where if you are a merchant you can post specials, grand openyu can find that is free to run around in... this is a mature environment, if you want to run around half dressed, that is up to you. The good news is we have some great talent coming in every day.. and by using the GCG Flyer and chatting in the GCG group  you will soon be the belle of your world.  whatever your "style" you'll find it here.
