A new land that is vast, open, and very friendly.  The Great Canadian Grid... owned and operated by a Canadian, Roddie Macchi. To read more about the GCG, what it is all about, and  who the founder is, please visit, www.greatcanadiangrid.ca   If you are not already in the community "hey" you are more than welcome to join in on the fun.

When you arrive, there is detailed information on how to go about getting started, there is so much offered that is free, and shared by other builders and designers in the community, initially you will be able to start out with a nice starter house, on your own small plot of land.  Sit down, hold on to your hats, you can find a small place with 1000 available prims. !!! Hey! No kidding.

If you are already a virtual traveller, then you can own your own sim/island for $10 Canadian, (I think its $9. US) a month.  Bring your business, club, market to GCG.  Some malls offer free rent.

There are two groups to join when you come in... and they are right there when you land.  Clear instructions are provided on how to join the groups., One is the

Great Canadian Grid, where you will become known to others in the community, and where if you need anything, you simply holler for help and someone will come to your rescue.

The other group is the Great Canadian Flyer, this is where if you are a merchant you can post specials, grand openyu can find that is free to run around in... this is a mature environment, if you want to run around half dressed, that is up to you. The good news is we have some great talent coming in every day.. and by using the GCG Flyer and chatting in the GCG group  you will soon be the belle of your world.  whatever your "style" you'll find it here.

Men the same applies to you.  You want or need it, GCG has got it.  If you have questions of a personal nature, the male half of this duo will be happy to share his new found knowledge. (Jettis Sphere) (China Dream)

Out of the city on July 26 we missed the Grand Opening of Sydney City Motor Club, it was sponsored by Paris METRO, you know what that means, not only good sounds, but a wonderful gift if you are in the Sydney City group.

People to meet, places to go

DJ Tango & Partner Peg performed at a special Sci Fi party last night, put on by DJ Sugaree and her partner Vinnie, what a time, what a fantastic build. Pictures follow in this blog.

This was our first time to experience the energy and personality of this DJ. the music is non stop, the place was jumping, you will find her at Pacifique every Friday nite.

 Unlike other clubs, there is not one landing for the different venues, so it helps to be in the group so you get the notices giving you the landing for each event.  I know not practical for those who like to plan ahead, but  this is what happens at this venue.  Is it worth the bother, well I leave that to you, I think once you've attended the rocking events, and meet the regulars, you'll want to come back for more.

 Another first, we attended the grand opening of The Pier , Ruby Island  we heard of this event through Star and DJ Kirt.  DJ. Xavia is a friend of Kirts, we were invited to tag along. The Theme was Retro, Big Bands and the DJ, didn't let us down, we were able to boogie woogie and strut the whole time we were there.

You will want to make time to explore while you are there, the owners of the venue, Emelia Sinatra and Bryan Jonstone are old hands at bringing interesting builds to SL, among them is the Elvis Presley museum.

The decor and planning for the Sci Fiction event was "out of this world" tasteful and truly enjoyable to look around to discover the fantastic finds that were pulled together to give guest the feeling of entering another dimension.

Las Islas - Casa del Mar

Well developed, planned out and built for your pleasure.  A place to relax and chill out in an environment that is beckoning for those of us with a passion for the sea. Xsa's outfit is from Liv Glam,(Winter 13-Pretty Girl) you can never go wrong when you were a LG design, the quality of the mesh, the fit, the detail is first class.  That said always try the demos offered. You will find LG designs in their  mains shop and they participate in most of the sale venues so you can experience their clothes at a limited time discounted price.

We can only bring you a snippet of the beauty that is in this build to really truly appreciate all that can be had here, you have to visit. There are teleport boards situated all around the various islands. You read right, plural, there is a  lot to see.  Don't short change yourself, allow time to really explore and enjoy.

It is a dreamer's paradise, a lover' dream,a romantic hide-away, it can be anything you want it to be. It is a shop, the waves are for sale, the place is one idea after another.  Let your creativity go wild, follow your dreams.

Virtual Art & Lifestyle

 Here we are on the road again, this time instead of a daily blog, we will be posting on a can do basis. Q, AloToi and Xsa are all on one assignment or another, life is busy, but always, we are drawn back to the virtual world for R&R,  The beauty, creativity and artistic community is just too irresistible 

To help us will be Lady Jan, she will do most of the roving and exploring for us.  Although having said this, I feel AloToi's  heavy breathing on my neck, I know she misses all the designers that she's worked with over the last couple of years doing Long Dash Studio. Q wants to write her mini moments again, so who knows, what you will get here is a mix of fashion,entertainment news, visual art and musings.

Remember to follow us so it is easier for you to keep up to date with what is happening.  AloToi (on the left), asks the Designers who worked with LDS to send samples and information to Lady Jan, that will expedite things.  As usual you hear of a new build, or find one that you feel is a "winner" let us know.
