Yesterday and today

What can we say, if you missed him last night, you missed a great show! You'll have to catch him at Poonanny's or Sweet Magnolia's or one of his other venues.  This DJ draws a crowd, you know he is good by the audience that is littered with other DJ's, club owners and music buffs from all over SL.

The evening progressed with a fun time enjoying the burlesque at Tango's Club, in the Cabaret room.  We don't know if this will become a regular or special event, next time, you will have lots of notice so you don't miss out, it was a lot of fun as you can see.  At Tango's it is not just about dancing, it is about a good time with friends,  Come and be part of the good times.

If you are in the group for where Trow is playing you would have gotten a notice this morning that he had a show at 9 SL time.  Trow is invited to play in many areas of SL, some he is featured on a regular basis, others he is a headliner for special events, i.e. the SL celebrations of their 11th anniversary.

One would think that we have pretty much seen it all, yet every  couple of weeks, the Designer Circle brings us new and darling fashion for peruse and enjoy at discounted prices.  Today we pulled the little black dress Valeria from Pure Poison  The designer is offering the dress to you in black or red, for under 100L.  Rigged mesh it comes in the 5 standard sizes.  this is the first day of the new round #75 at Designer Circle  come on down!  Anna shapes, WoW skins, your favourites are all there

LOL our model found a store bot and had some fun.  The bot must have once been a tree, tall or what?  We were heading for the BLACKHEARTS CAFE, THE ORIGINAL, EST 2007,  we found the building, but not the cafe/club?  Well we did find our way in, the place is open 24/7

DC 74 @ Botanical Gardens

Already we are hearing questions on where to either go for a wedding party or where can hair be found that would be suitable for a wedding.  These are not always questions for the bride but for guests who will be attending the various functions. Designer Circle has a lovely two piece outfit that would be perfect for some of the less formal functions, comfortable too.

New @ Designer Circle 72

Anticipation mounts as we wait for the opening of the doors to the new DC round of goodies.  We did sneak a peak, and there is a whole lot in there that we want to get our hands on.  Designer Circle is consistent with the quality of merchandise offered.

Vivid [PBS] is offering a new shape, Katrina comes with four different options, -curvy -  5'.ft. 0 inches tall, then there is less curvy, again only 5 ft. tall.  There is a taller version, and a taller less curvy - 5 ft. 2 inches tall,  This is short to model clothes in for our purposes we have added inches. (6 ft. 2o inches)  Personally we like the shorter version for every day.  Vivd shapes are well proportioned in the shorter versions, 

WOW skins - offers us Cecilla Ta, with our without cleavage, and there is also provided the Cecilia Shape which we will show you in another blog.  Note that the designer also provides you with the necessary appliers for those of you who need them.  Yes, the Lolas .. tango are also included.

[AMARELO MANGA] gave us a dress, bag, and the pumps to match. We can never have enough black dresses, this little shift has a sequined design down the front the eyes to the bodice, nice touch,  The bag has the AO to go with it that allows you to hold the bag.

Eyelure makes the runway with this fabulous little number, it is sleeveless, but the fabric and texture give it a warm look and feeling.  your limo to Designer Circle 71 is in sidebar.

new look for the Designer Circle

Not only are you getting a whole new round of discounted items for the next few weeks, you are going to love the new layout for the Designer Circle. Instead of two floors, everything is now on one floor. 

The look is fresh, open and spacious.  We especially like the  silhouette artwork on the walls.  Each designer now has a display area that showcases their wares in a very upscale way.  A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure that you their valued customer is not inconvenienced with delays. There brief shut down is a sign of their obvious organizational skills and the good working relationship they have with the merchants who work with them.

Fun on January 4.2014

Today is a fun day.  Our model gets to show you something that appeals to her and that she is enjoying in her personal life in SL.  I'm told she has one!
One of her favourite places to visit on a regular basis is Official Shoenique Designs /Unique Gowns (Mall Men & Women)  If you belong to the store group, there is always a very nice selection of gifts from the owner.

The retro dress is Shoenique's Janauary gift and is presently on the board for members of the Shoenique group.  The shoes are available at a give away price of 50L .. also for group members.  There is a fee to join this group, but obviously the rewards are many.  Where at one time i didn't feel that a fee was very welcome.  However I have seen how the generousity of the designer is abused.   Gifts are taken and then people drop out of the group.  Not nice.

For all you shoe lovers, Shoenique offers you a 10L area, where she has placed some pretty fancy styles.  Grab the limo provided to you (above) and get on down to reap the rewards.

Dulce Secrets

Now that Long Dash Studio is no longer going to Press, and we are doing this blog about Virtual Art and Lifestyles, Lady Jan has been leading the way, while AloToi had gone into retirement. Finding it difficult to just disappear, she has decided to come back into SL to enjoy just being a member of the community.

As a long time "player" we long ago decided on our main look, and we've settled in with either our jobs, or lifestyle and shop to "add to" our wardrobe and "look"  Our personalities have been established. Alo had to start over.

As a "fashionista" Alo was never lost for a new look.  But now without the income of her post, she has to search out the sales, and promotional items just like the rest of us.  This has been a very good experience for all of us, she is finding some wonderful designers, that till now have not escaped our notice,but have not been in our immediate field of vision.

An example of this is Dulce Secrets.  DS has been around for years, we've seen DS at cart sales, and other events, we've used her products that were being marketed in the discounted sales, BUT we never went to the main shop.

Today we did, the store has a wonderful layout, it is easy to find what you are looking for, and more.  In fact, in the store you get to see the many different skins, and not just the one this being promoted in a sale.  The skin you pick with be very  unique to you, especially how it will fit over the contours of your shape and facial features.  Always try the demos that are offered. Did you know DS has a freebie room? There is also a Midnight Mania board for those of you who chase the boards.

For newcomers (Newbies) DS offers skins if you are 30 days or younger. There is a fantasy skin for the Neko in you, and an assortment of other makeups for you to discover, including a lovely green velvet gown.  Freebies and discounted skins are fun, but if you are planning on being in SL for awhile, it would be nice ot have your "own look".  Someone once told me that all the faces were the same, and that is not true.

So many young ladies and men want to be models.  To stand out and become a model, you need to find your identity.  There are schools in SL that will help you do that.  Not everyone wants to go to school, but you can take advantage of shops like Dulce Secrets.  Take the time to visit and explore what is being offered there.  Its not mass market, its a boutique that specializes in bringing the consumer a quality product.  Have a question, ask.

Exclusively Yours, a shop that is a true find.  Lady Jan as you know is a roving reporter new to SL, Q, AloToi and Xsa all have been in SL for years and have their likes and favourites, Lady Jan came in brand new with the experience and knowledge of her "sisters" but, her account is brand new.  That means starting over, searching out merchants and designs that will work for her lifestyle.  It is a new perspective when you see SL through a new avatar's eyes.  So much is being offered, there are all kinds of groups you can join to take advantage of items at a lesser price.

What LJ discovered was that often you get what you pay for.  If you are brand new to SL you really don't know the difference.  But since LJ is new but has the eyes and experience of a long time player, it has been hit and miss. Then her trail took her to Exclusively Yours.  The building itself isn't spectacular, but what was being offered caught her eye, where in other shops, she could be in and out in a few minutes, she found that there was more than one item of interest.  The sale items looked good, and there was a good selection at the discounted price. ( ** paying a low price is one thing but if the quality of  your purchase lacks, you just wasted your money.)

The items purchased were so stunning and were so well designed she went back for more. This time taking the time to walk/camera the full selection being offered.  The two items shown here, were both on the special wall, ie.
Steals and Deals weekly sale  -  Super Sales Week-end.   The 1st dress shown was the first purchase, the detail, and design of the outfit, was so flattering on, Lady Jan was loath to change.  BTW the outfits come complete as shown, in other words if you see jewelry and shoes, they came with the outfit. The blue after 5 dress came with a clutch.

This was the Fifty 5  Thursday, the attention to detail, front, back, sideways, anyway you look at the outfits they look good.  Look at the necklace that came with this outfit.

The store offers not only casual but formal wear.
