Exploring SL

WE traveled by reed boat and landed in Egypt.  Magic of SL, we left on water but traveled through space and time to arrive at our destination.  To find your way into the tomb, you will need to unravel a mystery first.  Once inside the tomb you will discover riches and "the unexplained".. Its great fun, outside the pyramid are camels which you can ride or buy, telling you in advance, one of the camels has attitude.. REAL attitude. Many of the articles in the pyramid are for sale.  This is a great opportunity to pick up some antiques for your living area or grounds.

There are a few burial chambers, some with free treasures, and some for sale, Don't worry about getting lost the tunnels are marked for you  I took away the ruby to remind me of my visit =^_^=  I love bling, so the blue flower came too, LOL once a shopper,, bling is just like shoes, never enough.

Come and stroll back to 50's and 60's when Rock and Roll was a big part of everyones lives. With the King himself 'Elvis' and many others. Lets party and bop like it's supposed to be done.

Here we are arriving at the Odeon theatre for Q to practice before her evening performance.  It is a beautiful big room with good acoustics.

Not that it will help Q much since she can't sing, but she will be speaking and that she does rather well. sigh as long as she stays on topic. =^_^=

The 1920 Berlin Project

Last day of the year (Chinese yr of Snake)

Restless and on the prowl, after reading Honor's blog about Kowloon, I realized that it had been a long time since I'd visited myself. Obviously I was there at the wrong time, everyone was sleeping off the celebrations of yesterday.

Densely populated, the buildings are high, and crowded, There  doesn't appear to be any zoning by-laws, you have small restaurants, or retail outlets where you don't expect to find anything.  If you go too far into the warren to streets and lanes, you will be hard pressed to find your way out easily. I think it would be correct in saying that the area I was in was a true  labyrinth.

Time for a change, After a quick trip home to change, we headed for  the 1920 Berlin Project.  This is the beauty of life in SL. Lappen und Knochen the second hand store was open, its across from the Paul Christoph Restaurant zum Nussbaum, actually the Berliner Post Press is next door to the Second Hand shop.  What history buff doesn't want to read about more about the places they visit.

In the Second Hand shop we found this great pair of men's old underwear, with a good wash they should be a lot of fun to wear  for a girl's sleep over,
With the man undershirt it would go great with a grunge look and it was only  
31L.. the pants were 17L  

Unfortunately there are no vacancies at the moment, but it is possible to rent a room or take lodging here in the Project,  We are totally enthralled with the place.  It is so genteel.

Everything seems to be in walking distance, or you can take the tram, it has gone past several times now, so there would be no long wait for transportation. We found a bakery we couldn't resist, why not, its Chinese New Year after all.. A treat is in order.

Visiting the Past

We've had fun doing retro.  The 50-60's is a lot of fun, now we are sending our model down to the 1920-s Berlin Project.  We've touched on the sim before, but really never spent that much time there.  With the cold winter, and the storms brewing what seems to be all over the North American continent, we are off to explore Berlin in the 20,30 and 40s.

It is important to note that this is a role play sim, and there is a dress code. To make it easier for you to explore the first time you arrive, there is a booth in the reception area, where participating designers have put out a couple of freebies. Before boarding the train, you must be dressed properly.  Everything is very clearly outlined for you.

Our model Chicas read the map to see if there is one place in particular she would like to start. She has already boarded the train, and has dismounted in Berlin.

This is the second dress offered by Mila Edelman of OTP (Old Time Prims) for a full selection of the merchandise carried by OTP, you can catch the taxi at the end of this blog.  Because we want to stay as authentic as possible, our model is going to go across the street to have her hair done @ the LOLA LOLA DAMEN UND HERREN FRISEUR

Memories are made of this...

This was one of the first dance clubs I attended when I first came into SL. Wow, how nice to rediscover it again. The Blue Note Retro Jazz Lounge ~  I was so new I had stars in my eyes. The music, the ball gowns, the men in their tuxedos, everything seemed to be so romantically perfect.  LOL that was before I really learned what the ups and downs of SL were all about.

We have been searching for an outfit today for a Retro blog, word came down from head office (Q) she wanted  retro....So of course, when the boss speaks we "jump"....this is where we are at the moment 0==( OLD TIME PRIMS )==0 VINTAGE & RETRO FASHION  truly an amazing retail outlet.

We are looking for a rose tattoo... it seems that "back then" the "wild" one wore tats. We already found hair, but who knows, we might have to take Q's "purse' away from her. This place has everything you can think of, hair, skins, shapes, eyes, of course clothes.  For the role play on the depression sim, this is the place to shop.  Remember this poodle hairstyle!!!!

Oh no... is that Q hiding in that vintage car !! What is she up to now.. that is not her car.

The car is owned by the owner of the shop we were in, someone get her out of there.  Geesh...  There is actually a whole community of vendors in the historical market.  You can see Q looking into the seamstress's shop (Curious Seamstress) where you can find historically correct fashions, and next to that is a jewelry shop. There is so much to see and explore just in this location.  0==( VINTAGE RETRO )==0 HISTORICAL MARKET STREET,

We found pill box hats, glasses,hair, jewelry, nylon stockings, shoes, poodle skirts,corsets and fashion and casual clothing, no rose tattoo, We will have to save that for another time.

You want something different?  Like character.. and want to really be someone that develops the person he/she is role playing.. you gotta check this  shop out.

Fun on January 4.2014

Today is a fun day.  Our model gets to show you something that appeals to her and that she is enjoying in her personal life in SL.  I'm told she has one!
One of her favourite places to visit on a regular basis is Official Shoenique Designs /Unique Gowns (Mall Men & Women)  If you belong to the store group, there is always a very nice selection of gifts from the owner.

The retro dress is Shoenique's Janauary gift and is presently on the board for members of the Shoenique group.  The shoes are available at a give away price of 50L .. also for group members.  There is a fee to join this group, but obviously the rewards are many.  Where at one time i didn't feel that a fee was very welcome.  However I have seen how the generousity of the designer is abused.   Gifts are taken and then people drop out of the group.  Not nice.

For all you shoe lovers, Shoenique offers you a 10L area, where she has placed some pretty fancy styles.  Grab the limo provided to you (above) and get on down to reap the rewards.
