Aging in Second Life - shopping

One of our long time models came to us with a concern. With the younger models now on board, she wanted to portray someone with more maturity, and not be assigned some of the newer more trendy looks.  Xsa has always been our haute couture model, and usually worked with the featured designers.  What it comes down to, is she no longer wants to constantly be changing her shape or skins.  She wants to stick to one shape and her own look.  Much like the younger ones are now doing.  Things have changed since we began in the mid to late 2000's.  Frankly they have changed a  lot.

al Vulo!, ReMix Yo LIfe
no information available this time, but they have a lot to offer. we saw a nice group gift when we landed there.

We visited a lot of shops, watched while she tried on demo after demo, trying first the designer shape, and then going back to the shape she has and wants to keep.  This is important when you are looking to perfect your look, find the shape that you like, the face is very important, the rest you can tweak for the different clothes you want to wear.  But your face... it will be your signature.
Spacing of your eyes, shape of the eyebrows, do you like them heavy, thin, is the nose the way you like it when you turn, do you like the profile?

It was tough, there are so many amazing artists out there.  You have the make up professionals that are so skilled they can make one face look like it was flawless.  Then you have the artist that excels in technical skills but just doesn't have that flair you want.  In the end it comes down to YOUR connection to the face that looks back at you.

Cost is also a huge factor.  You get what you pay for. You hear it often, and in most cases, believe it.  Knock offs and "junior" designers often lack the dimension in their work that you need if you are going to want to get work with your looks... ie. model, actress, dancer, entertainer.  Do your homework, visit the various shops and try the demos.  Can't stress that enough.  When we come across a shape or skin that does not provide a demo, we pass on it.

There are many more talented designers then the ones we will be mentioning, the one's we will show here are ones that we visited these past few days to try their skins, or we have used their skins.  we KNOW their work and feel comfortable passing the information on to you.  If we have blogged them or used them, you know they have met with our standards.  If we won't use them personally, we don't blog them.

These are the Design Houses we visited today.  There are so many different personalities out there, there will be a Design House to meet your needs.  Our thanks to Bonita for sharing her look.  We met up at Belleza, where she was picking up the new group skin. Bonita is owner and creative designer of  . Bonita's Jewelry ...
